Year 2018
E.M.C.F initiated our first Jummah Salah & Madresaah ( Is at Eyres Monsell Community Centre, Hillsborough Road, Leicester
Year 2019
Our first congregational taraweeh salah initiated, approx. 10/15 attendees at the Eyres Monsell Community Centre, theatre, following with a communal Eid Salah
Year 2021
we started to look for a suitable property in the vicinity off Eyres Monsell. We contacted the local council to enquire about the vacant Magpie youth centre neighbouring the community centre, after a long back and forth, meetings after meetings with the local MP’s. Council decided to turn the vacant magpie youth centre in to a children hospital school/centre which is currently being used as
Year 2022
After Covid-19, we continued offering Islamic services at the Eyres Monsell Community Centre, with attendees raising to 50+ for Friday prayers. The management decided to use a vacant space at a property on Stuart road, for 5x daily prayers.
Year 2023
Around mid-February, we found a pub for sale, The Glen situated on Hillsborough Road next to Co oP Store. It was a freehold property and agent wanted offers above £375,000. We sent in our offer via our solicitor, unfortunately our offer didn’t get accepted due to other businessmen who had sent in a higher offer. Reaching June 2023, we received good news from our solicitor, stating the seller has accepted our bid of £425,000 which the property was purchased in September 2023, with the prayers and support of our
community.
